I took a trip to Canada during one of the hardest seasons of my life. Standing at Niagara Falls, watching millions of gallons of water plummet past me every second, I heard my Father speak to my heart: My love for you is more massive, more expansive and more impressive than what you are looking at and nothing will take you away from Me.
Over the next few days, He led me through one beautiful landscape after another. Just God and me. And He kept whispering one thing to the core of my being: I love you, Son.
But Father, I protested, I've made quite a mess of things.
His response changed everything: Son, I love you when you feel like a success and I love you when you feel like a failure. I can't love you any more than I already do and I refuse to love you any less. I love you because you're Mine.
That's when I discovered what most believers never realize: You can't earn what you already have.
God's not waiting for you to get it right. He's not grading your performance. He's not keeping a list of your failures. He's gazing at you with the same delight He had when you were born, before you could do a single thing for Him.
You're His treasure, not His project.
That revelation didn't just change my theology. It transformed my entire life. My relationships with my wife and sons. My sense of purpose. My ability to actually enjoy God instead of just serving Him. The joy that had been sapped by religious striving came flooding back.

I'm a pastor in the San Francisco Bay Area and the founding pastor of Blazing Fire Church. But more importantly, after spending years trying to earn what I already had, I’ve learned how to continually rest as my Father’s beloved son
My assignment is clear: help people get off the performance treadmill and discover they're treasured, not projects.
I grew up in the church. I knew about God early. I became a pastor because I loved Him and wanted to serve Him well. But for years, even in ministry, I felt like I was always one step away from disappointing Him. I chased experiences through working harder, trying to measure up. The joy I thought I'd find kept slipping through my fingers.
Then everything I'd built came crashing down. In that broken place, standing at Niagara Falls during one of the darkest seasons of my life, my Father spoke: My love for you is more massive than what you're looking at. Nothing will take you away from Me. Over the next few days, He convinced me of one simple truth: I can't love you any more than I already do and I refuse to love you any less. I love you because you're Mine.
That revelation didn't just change my theology. It transformed everything. My marriage with Suzanne. My relationship with our two sons, Derek and Aaron. My ability to actually enjoy all of life with God instead of just serving Him. The freedom to be myself without pretending.
For twenty-five years, I've been walking people through this same discovery. I've seen hundreds of miracles. Healings. Deliverances. Breakthrough after breakthrough. But the greatest miracle?
